Start by removing the handles by cutting the sides using a hack saw.
Glue a piece of cardboard all around so it flushes on the top of the bucket.
Glue the dowel bars around the bucket using liquid nail and hot glue. Make sure they are all leveled.
Sand the MDF board, then coat with putty on all sides. Once dry, sand again.
Spray paint the base with your preferred color. Remove the dust from the round MDF, then paint in the same color.
Glue the top to the base using nail glue. Make sure it is leveled and centered.
