Grease stains on clothes can be from cooking, personal products, eating, or mechanical care products. Once the stain sets, it can’t be removed with just your usual detergent. Trust me, I tried it before, and it did not work. But there is an easy DIY solution for set grease stains. I learned about this trick from Rough and Tumble Farmhouse’s video tutorial.

Step 2:

To make sure it doesn’t stain your clothes, try testing a small amount in a covered area that people don’t usually see before adding to the greased area.

Add the mixture to the set greased stain and work it into the skin using the back of the spoon. Rub it in thoroughly to get into the fibers of your clothes. Let it sit for 15 minutes.

The mixture can dry out in an airtight jar. If you have an older batch, just add a few drops of water to get it back to the right consistency.

Step 3:

After 15 minutes, wash as you normally would.

If the stain is still there after washing, repeat the process.
