In this tutorial, The Stain Guide on YouTube will teach you two simple methods on how to remove any carpet stain at your home. This DIY solution will ensure that no blotch is too daunting to conquer.
To start, make the DIY spotter chemical. Mix 1 cup of water, 1 tsp dish soap, and 2 cups of 70% isopropyl alcohol. Spray this liberally over the stain on your carpet, then use a wet dry vacuum to extract the solution and contaminants from your carpet. If you don’t have a wet dry vacuum, you can use a carpet spot extractor. Repeat this two to three times to completely remove the stain. Once done, rinse with water to remove the soap residue. If there’s still some stain, let the carpet completely dry before moving to the second step.
To start, wear gloves, then spray 6% hydrogen peroxide liberally all over the stained spot in your carpet followed by household ammonia, maintaining a ratio of roughly three parts hydrogen peroxide to one part ammonia. Once done, cover the sprayed area with plastic wrap, then place a pot of hot water on top of the plastic wrap. Leave it until the water turns to room temperature. Repeat this with a new batch of hot water when the stain is still noticeable.
