Easy Way to Clean Stubborn Stains on Carpet

1 – How to Get Rid of Ink Stains from Carpet

  • denatured alcohol
  • old toothbrush
  • light-colored rags
  • wet/dry vacuum

If the stain is fresh, use a light-colored rag to blot up as much of the stain as possible. Make sure not to press the fresh stain deeper. A dry stain will need to be soaked in alcohol for 5 minutes. Make sure not to pour too much, Only use enough amount to cover the stain and soak down about half an inch. Take a clean rag and blot the ink from the stain. Repeat the process a few times until completely removed. If there are still fibers the alcohol is not reaching, massage it with an old toothbrush and leave for 5 minutes. Use the vacuum to dry.

2 – How to Remove Grease Stains from Carpet

  • wet dry vacuum
  • baking soda
  • spoon
  • dish soap
  • water
  • denatured alcohol
  • old toothbrush
  • light-colored rags
  • spray bottle

Liberally sprinkle baking soda onto the grease stain, covering it fully. Use the spoon to push the baking soda down into the fibers, leaving it for about 3 to 5 minutes. Using the dry setting on your vacuum, vacuum the baking soda. Make a cleaning solution by mixing one cup of denatured alcohol and a half teaspoon of liquid dish soap. Spray your stain with the cleaning solution and allow it to sit for 2-3 minutes. Using the wet setting, vacuum the cleaning solution. Spray your cleaning solution again and rub it in with the toothbrush. Vacuum again. Repeat the process a few times if needed.

3 – How to Get Rid of Nail Polish Stains From Carpet

  • acetone
  • paper towel
  • light-colored rag
  • gloves

If it’s still wet, use a paper towel to blot up as much as possible. Wear some gloves, pour 1 to 2 ounces of acetone onto the stain, and let it sit for a few minutes. Once it’s soaked, use a paper towel to absorb the acetone and nail polish from the carpet. You can use the rag to work the acetone to your carpet fully. Repeat until the stain is removed.

4 – How to Remove Wine Stains and Coffee Stains From Carpet

  • hydrogen peroxide
  • dish soap
  • light-colored towels
  • wet/dry vacuum

If you just spilled red wine or coffee on your carpet, blot as much as the liquid up. Do not rub. For a dry stain, make a cleaning solution. Mix 1 cup of hydrogen peroxide and 1/2 teaspoon of dish soap in a small bowl. Using a sponge or light-colored towel, dab the solution onto the stain. Let i sit for about 5 to 10 minutes. After that, use a clean towel or paper towel to absorb the liquid. Repeat the process if needed. Blot the surface dry with a clean towel. Remove all the liquid with a vacuum.
