A couple of weeks ago, our family went to the Blanco River and collected a bunch of river rocks. When we got home, I realized we had 3 buckets full of beautiful river rocks and I quickly started searching the internet for some cool river rock project ideas. I found this awesome owl rock painting tutorial by Rachel’s Rocks Canada on Youtube, and I knew this would be a great project for the whole family. Rock painting has always been close to my heart because I usually do hand-painted mandala rocks, which are super easy and just require a pencil and a few q-tips to paint, and they are so much fun. When I saw this cute owl idea, I immediately thought of my grandma’s farm, where she had the coolest old rickety barn filled with many wise old barn owls. My sister and I would have so much fun rummaging around that old barn and staring at the beautiful ban owls. The really crazy thing was that the owl image in the tutorial looked just like grandma’s barn owls, so I was super excited to paint these characters that I felt like I already knew.
In this awesome owl rock painting tutorial by Rachel’s Rocks Canada on Youtube, you will be guides step by step through this cute project. You will start by drawing your owl on a freshly painted rock.
Then, you will finish all the owl details with your craft paint.
This is a wonderful project that worked really well in our family group setting.
