Ingredients

  • carrots
  • 1 tablespoon of neutral oil like sunflower or canola
  • 1 tablespoon of maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon of soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of liquid smoke
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
  • salt and ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

Step 1:

Start by peeling the skin of the carrots. Next, peel them into thin long slices and set them aside.

Step 2:

In a medium bowl, add 1 tablespoon of neutral oil, 1 tablespoon of maple syrup, 1 teaspoon of soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of liquid smoke, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika, salt, and ground black pepper. Mix until well combined using a whisk or fork.

Step 3:

Place the thin slices of carrots in a bowl, and pour the mixture. Mix with your hands until they are well coated, then set aside for a few minutes to let the carrots soak the flavors.

Step 4:

Lay the carrots into a wire rack in a single layer. Make sure not to overlap them.

Step 5:

Place it inside the oven and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for around 10 minutes. Make sure you put the baking sheet below to catch any of the drippings. Once done baking, place on a paper towel to remove excess oil. Serve on a plate and enjoy while crispy!
