This DIY by Slick Slime Sam on YouTube shows how to make an advent calendar from toilet paper rolls. There are many advent calendars at the store, but I think it’s more creative and meaningful when you’re able to construct your own and add small, personalized gifts into the specific days. Supplies:

  • paper rolls or toilet paper rolls
  • green paint and brown paint (or any color)
  • red poster paper
  • hot glue gun
  • pencil
  • white glue
  • scissors
  • glue stick
  • little presents for the advent calendar
  • ribbon
  • paper cutter
  • Christmas stickers or print out

Directions:

First, cut your paper rolls into even sizes, but if you use toilet paper rolls then the size is perfect as is. Paint the paper rolls with green paint and a few with brown paint for the bottom row as the tree stump. Line up and glue the paper rolls together as the outline of a Christmas tree.
