This adorable grandma doll made out of socks is absolutely adorable. It is also super simple and easy to make, simply follow the procedure as instructed by Miarti – Creative ideas‘ video tutorial on YouTube. I hope that you enjoy making this sewing project and try other designs or concepts as well.
Step 1
Stuff the stockings with polyester fiberfill until it reaches your desired doll height. Tie off the ends and cut off the excess. Insert a double thread through the stockings right where the neck area should be and wrap the thread around several times, pull it tight enough to form the neck then make a knot. Insert the needle through the bottom center of the body, then pull out the needle from the middle of the body’s front area, repeat several times until you form the legs. Measure the socks to fit the body, then cut them out, wear them on the doll, and stitch the collar of the shirt. Insert a white sock at the head about halfway for the hairline, then insert pins, and mark where the eyes and nose will be. Next, find out where you want the ears to be and sew it.

Step 2
Insert a small piece of polyfill in a small piece of stockings, then sew and wrap a double thread around it and knot. This will be the doll’s nose, sew it through the face of the doll after removing the marking pin. Use a red thread to sew the mouth of the doll. Sew secure the white socks on the head, then cut off the excess ends of the socks leaving only enough for the hair. Add more filling in a white sock and shape the hair, sew it close then add another smaller layer of polyfill to form a hair bun. Tie a red hair tie around it, then sew the bead eyes and sew eyebrows as well, add some blush on the cheeks using cotton swabs dabbed in blusher, attach both ends of the reding glasses with hot glue. For the arms, sew the sleeves from scrap red socks, then attach a small polyfill stocking at the end. insert a polyfill inside 2 round socks cut out and sew it on the legs.
