Got old denim jeans sitting in the back of your closet? Give them a new life by turning them into a chic drawstring bag! It’s a fantastic way to repurpose clothes you no longer wear instead of tossing them out. This cute bag pairs well with different outfits and never goes out of style.

Take the inside pockets fabric pieces and place them on top of each other right sides together. Sew on one of the long sides with a 3/8″ seam allowance. Fold in half, right side out, then top stitch on the folded edge.
Get one main panel lining. Place the sewn denim on top, then sew on the sides, bottom, and middle seam.
Get the fabric strips. Fold the long sides toward the center, then fold again in half. Sew on both edges to make two strips.
Take the other main panel lining and the unit from step 1. Make marks on the top of each piece for the handle. Place the strips on the marks and sew them to make the handles.
Place them on top of each other and make two marks on the sides that are inches apart for the opening. Sew on the sides except the opening. Rotate the fabric so the seams are in the center. Press the seams open.
Get the main panel denim fabric and place them on top of each other. Sew on the sides with a 3/8″ seam allowance. Rotate the fabric so the seams are in the middle. Press the seams open.
On your main panel, measure 1 3/8″, then from that point measure 1″. Attach an eyelet on the marks. Do the same on the other side.
Take the bottom panel denim fabric and draw a 7 3/4″ circle. Place it on top of the bottom panel lining fabric and cut the circle.
Get the main fabric and flip it wrong side out. Sew the denim circle on the bottom. Take the lining circle and sew it on the bottom of the lining unit.
Insert the main panel unit inside the lining unit. Make sure the handles are inside. Sew on the top edge. Flip it right side out through the opening. Sew the opening closed.
Pull the inside part out, then sew 1″ away from the end of the main panel for the cord. Put the inside part in, then top stitch on the end of the lining. Insert the cord from the eyelet.
