Grab a vase and make some holes at the bottom, then add a layer of approximately 3 inches of expanded clay, and cover it with about an inch layer of sand. Add the soil with humus (decomposed and fermented organic matter of both animal and vegetable origin), then put the seed or seedling in it, and cover it with some leaves. Make sure that your soil is at least 6 inches deep and 5 inches wide, then place the vase next to a window where it can get sunlight, and allow it to receive at least 6 hours of sunlight. Water your scallions every one or three days because some of them need moist soil as long they are well-drained. Your scallions will be ready for harvest after 3 months, simply cut the leaves, and make sure to leave a space of 2 inches from the roots so that it can grow back.
