I never thought that there truly is a way to remove the seeds of a pomegranate easily in as fast as one minute. Not until I found this video tutorial by Bhanu’s Kitchen Bhanu’s Rasoi on YouTube and tried it out at home! Now, I have also been sharing this trick with my family and friends, and I’m so glad that they found it as useful as I did. If you also want to learn this technique, then read the instructions down below, and watch the video tutorial as well.

Materials:

  • Knife
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Slotted spoon or sieve

Directions:

Step 1

Grab the pomegranate, then slice around the crown and cut it out without cutting the seeds inside, and then pop the crown off like a lid. Now, make a few slices from the top and down the bottom but not all the way through leaving the bottom center intact, then cut through the seeds as well, and separate the sections by pulling them apart. Grab a large mixing bowl, then take the pomegranate, flip it over, and hold it above the bowl.

Step 2

Using a tool, smack the pomegranate on the side while rotating it all the way around, then let the bowl underneath catch all of the seeds, and once done, add water to the bowl of seeds. Remove the floating white rib pieces from the bowl, then discard all of the excess water, you can also use a slotted spoon or sieve to do this, and then repeat as needed.
