First, make sure to wear your gloves, then grab a microfiber cloth, and dip it in petroleum. Rub the dipped microfiber cloth around your stovetop to create a protective layer and shine it. You can do this once a month to make cleaning easier, this can also be done before and after cleaning your stovetop. If you have some stubborn and stuck stuff or dirt on your stovetop near the burner, you can rub it off with a steel wool sponge (#0000), then rub it with some petroleum right after.
