If I’m too guilty of eating chocolate bars, I always make this chocolate delight dessert from Cooking with Granny Sue on Youtube. It’s a forgiving dessert recipe you can make if you like to eat chocolate. I actually prefer this nowadays because the combination of cool whip and chocolate pudding is to die for. You can also top it with some crushed walnuts or anything you want! Try this today and serve it to your family.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1/2 cup walnuts
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups cool whip + 8 oz (for the top layer)
  • 2 large boxes of instant Jello
  • 5 cups of milk
  • 1 tbsp + 1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:

Step 1

Beat 1 cup of unsalted butter with a handheld mixer, then stir in 2 cups of flour. Continue beating until crumbly texture. After this transfer it to an 11″ x 15″ pan and press it into the bottom. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of walnuts over, place it in the preheated oven at 350 degrees F, and bake for 15 to 20 minutes. After baking, remove it from the oven and let it cool to room temperature. While waiting, beat 8 oz of softened cream cheese, then add 1 cup of powdered sugar to another bowl. Continue beating until fully combined, then add 1 1/2 cups cool whip. Once soft peaks form, transfer the mixture over the crust and spread it nicely and evenly. Refrigerate it for 30 minutes.

Step 2

Combine two large boxes of instant Jello and 5 cups of milk in a large bowl. Mix well. Next, add 1 tbsp + 1 tsp vanilla extract and continue mixing for another three to four minutes. After mixing, pour it over the chilled cream cheese layer, then put it back in the refrigerator for at least an hour. After an hour, top it off with 8 oz of cool whip and spread it across evenly. Finish it by sprinkling crushed walnuts on top or any topping of your choice. Serve and enjoy!
