Friendships are fun so she wanted to use some fun fabric for this DIY project. In this sewing projects she uses big shapes with a lot of movement.

She calls this fun quilt the Friendship Quilt and she makes it in celebration of International Friendship Day. Laura makes this quilt with her good friend. Although her friend lives far away, Laura does the quilt top and sends it to her friend to do the quilting. I think that’s so cool and special!

We all have a special friends that we would give the moon too, and when it comes time to give them a gift for a special celebration we usually rack our brains trying to come up with something extra special for them. This particular quilt would actually make a lot of friends feel special and certainly make them smile!

If a friend of mine made this for me, I know I’d ball, for sure! What a special way to tell someone how special they are and that you love them!

The fabric she uses for this project is by Timeless Treasures and it’s called Black, White and Red All Over. And she chose a solid black background, making the fabrics pop!

Watch how Laura Coia, with Sew Very Easy, makes this quilt top in her step by step tutorial and make one of these for your special friend!

Since I lover experiments, I’ve alwaysnloved to create, paint, as well as cook and style food. I feel in love with DIY as soon as I discovered it and could not have been more excited when I learned I could share projects with people around the world. Taking photos is a passion of mine, as is design and painting with oils. I love holidays and celebrations, crafting cute little gifts and serving up at least one new recipe I am excited about.
