I have already seen a lot of quilt patterns, and this easy twisted ribbon quilt is probably one of the most adorable ones I have ever seen. I instantly fell in love with this pattern the first time I saw it. The colors that Sew Yeah chose for this design are just perfect. Now that ribbons are getting popular, a lot of people will surely make this quilt pattern.

For this project, you will be using three different fabrics – light, medium, and dark. I suggest you choose a monotone scheme for the medium and dark fabrics to create the same look shown in the quilt above. If you use both dark fabrics, the overall look will be different.
This pattern is easy to make and not as hard as it looks. Give this beautiful design a try for your next quilt project. For more ribbon quilt patterns, check these out: Easy Ribbon & Wreaths Quilt Tutorial, Ribbon Bow Quilt Block Tutorial, Ribbon Weave Quilt Block Tutorial for Beginners
Fabric A (Light) – 1 7/8 yards
Fabric B (Medium) – 1 5/8 yards
Fabric C (Dark) – 1 5/8 yards and 1/2 yard for binding
Get 2 pieces of 10″ squares and place them right sides together. Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner in both directions. Sew 1/4″ away on either side of the lines. Cut directly on the lines and in half in both directions. Press them open towards the dark side, then square them to 4 1/2″ squares. Repeat with 8 more
Make 96 pieces of half square triangles using 12 pieces of 10″ fabric A squares and 12 pieces of 10″ squares fabric B squares.
Do the same for 12 pieces of 10″ fabric A squares and 12 pieces of 10″ fabric C squares.
For the sashing, cut 48 pieces of 2 x 8 1/2″ strips from fabric C.
Cut 12 pieces of 2″ squares from fabric A.
Sew the A/B half square triangles with the colors together forming a triangle, then sew A/C half square triangles with the color connecting forming a rhombus.
Sew all the A/B pairs to the A/C pairs to make a block. Make sure the A/B is on top.
Piece 2 units together with 2″ strip in the center just like in the photo below. Repeat with the remaining units.
Piece the remaining 24 pieces of 2″ strips fabric C and 12 pieces of 2″ blocks fabric A to create sashing for the center of the blocks.
Arrange the units together with the sashing in between to make the block.
