Cloud dough is fun to play with especially for kids, plus, it’s stress-relieving and sure to keep you occupied for a while. Aside from it being a fun activity, making and preparing them is also equally fun to do. It is so easy and inexpensive to make using only materials that you may already have available in your kitchen or bathroom such as cornstarch and hair conditioner! If you want to give this a try, then watch this video tutorial by Fox Hollow on YouTube.

Materials:

  • 1 cup of cornstarch
  • ½ cup of hair conditioner
  • A large mixing bowl
  • A measuring cup
  • A mixing spoon
  • Food coloring, optional

Directions:

Step 1

Lay a cloth or plastic cover on your work surface to protect it from any mess or do it in a space or area that is easy to clean or to remove unwanted dirty spots. Grab a large mixing bowl, and add a cup of cornstarch and half a cup of hair conditioner, if you want to make a larger batch, then add more ingredients making sure to add 2 parts of cornstarch in every 1 part of the hair conditioner.

Step 2

Stir them together until combined, then start kneading them with your hands until it becomes a dough, and add more cornstarch if it becomes too sticky. You can skip adding the food coloring but if you want to add some color to your cloud dough, then divide the dough into sections, and decide the color of each. Add a small drop of food coloring onto the dough, then fold it together until the color is incorporated and uniform, and proceed to add food coloring to the rest of the dough sections.
