I have been quilting for a while now and have seen a lot of beautiful projects that vary in difficulty, but I still keep coming back to easy and simple quilts from time to time. I just find them more relaxing and fun to do, especially when I just want to pass the time or my mind feels like drifting.

My most recent and favorite project is this one by Shabby Fabrics on YouTube, it’s very colorful and super easy to piece together, and the process is pretty much repetitive too which makes it perfect for beginners. Learn how now by reading the instructions down below and while you’re at it check out the video tutorial as well.
Step 1
First, give your fabrics a good press to remove any wrinkles, then cut them to size as instructed in the pattern, and lay out the blocks. To assemble the blocks, place a square on the left, then 2 small strips on the right, put 2 strips below the square, and another square beside the strips, they should form a perfect square.
Step 2
When it comes to choosing the fabrics to use, you can do it randomly, and then mix and match the colors and patterns. Start stitching the smaller pieces first, lay them together with their right sides facing, then pin them in place, and stitch them with ¼ seam allowance.
Step 3
Stitch the strip unit to the square, then do the same for the lower row, and stitch them to each other. Lastly, press the seams nicely as demonstrated in the video, then proceed to make more blocks, and finish your quilt however you want.
