Sunflower cupcakes look totally pretty, in fact, too pretty to eat. You might have considered making them but had second thoughts about it because they just look like they’d be difficult and complicated to make. But, that’s not the case anymore, because even if you’re a beginner or you have little to no knowledge about baking and piping, you’ll be able to do it easily and rather quickly just by simply following CakesbyLynz instructions on YouTube!
Step 1
Insert the piping tips into 3 separate piping bags, then fill the large leaf piping tip with yellow buttercream and the other 2 smaller piping tips with the chocolate buttercream, it would be easier with the help of a tall glass. Using a flat spatula, create and smudge a yellow border around the cupcake leaving about a 1-inch diameter hollow circle at the center, this will be where you’ll stick the petals. Also, it should be slightly more raised than the center. Grab the yellow buttercream and angle your piping tip sideways and start working around the outer edges of the border. Starting from the edge, apply some pressure, let go and pull off, and work your way around the whole edge of the cupcake.

Step 2
Once done piping the first layer of petals, add another layer slightly further in, and make sure to place them in between two existing petals from the first layer. After piping the second layer, you’ll see that the center would be slightly dipped down. Using the #3 piping tip, pipe small dots really close to the petals to create a small border, make sure to pull it up every pipe to make it about 4mm or 0.15 inches in height. Repeat another layer and place it really close and in front of the first layer, fill each gap and space in between. Take the large round piping tip and fill the center, pipe slightly shorter stars that are placed close to each other.
