Materials:

  • Fabric, for the strawberry
  • Fabric, for the leaf
  • Background fabric
  • Marking pen or pencil
  • Scissors or rotary cutter and a cutting mat
  • Needle and thread
  • Sewing machine
  • Pattern (Click here to download the pattern)

Directions:

Step 1

Cut the fabric pieces according to the pattern requirement, then draw a diagonal line from corner to corner of 2 square fabrics, and sew one square on the side of a rectangle diagonally. Open the fabric, then cut off the excess fabric ¼-inch away from the stitching line, and repeat with the other side of the rectangle using the other square fabric you’ve prepared. Open the fabric, then give it a good press, and create half-square triangles for the leaf of the strawberry.

Step 2

Lay the background fabric square at the bottom of each side of the strawberry fabric, then sew them diagonally from corner to corner, and cut off the excess ¼ inch away from the stitching line. Place the pieced squares along the top of the strawberry fabric, then sew them together, and press nicely. Complete the block by adding the rest of the background fabric pieces, then create more of this block, and finish your quilt.
