This quilt block tutorial by Flash Fiction Mystery Quilt LLC on YouTube is one of the easiest blocks I’ve ever tried and also one of the prettiest. Plus, it comes with a free pattern with super easy directions that you can follow, so you don’t have to worry about messing this up because you can surely perfect this even on your first try! You’ve got to try this out and see for yourself, who knows, you might even add this to your favorite projects as well.
Step 1
Cut the fabric pieces and group them into units according to the pattern, then create 6 half-square triangles with yellow and purple fabrics by laying them together with their right sides facing, and drawing a diagonal line at the center from corner to corner. Sew on each side of the marked line with a ¼ inch seam allowance, then cut along the line, and press them open with the seam toward the darker fabric.

Step 2
Trim and square them nicely, then make 2 half-square triangles with the green and background fabric, and square the piece nicely. Grab the large yellow and green fabric, then turn them into 1 half-square triangle, press, and square. Lay and arrange the pieces together as shown in the video and the pattern, then start sewing the rows together, and continue until you’ve put together the whole block making sure to press every now and then or after sewing.
