This easy dish only requires a few simple ingredients but it makes the meat so savory and yummy. The meat turns out so tender that it just melts in your mouth and the juices are so flavorful, too. Ingredients for Brisket Recipe:

Caramelized Onions

  • 4 large yellow onions, chopped
  • 4 tbsp of butter
  • Bay leaf
  • Thyme, ground, fresh, or dried
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • A splash of Sherry

Beef Stock

  • 2 cups of stock, vegetable, beef, or chicken
  • 1 (1.5-ounce) pack of demi-glace
  • Worcestershire sauce, to taste

Brisket

  • 4 pounds of Brisket
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste

How to Make Brisket:

Step 1

Place a Dutch oven on a stove over medium-high heat, then saute the chopped onions in butter, and season them with salt, pepper, thyme, bay leaf, and Sherry. Cook the onions until nice and caramelized, then transfer them in a bowl, and set them aside.

Step 2

In the same Dutch oven, add the Brisket seasoned with salt and pepper, then sear it well until both sides are nice and browned. In a large measuring cup, whisk together the stock, demi-glace, and Worcestershire sauce until incorporated, then pour it into the Brisket, and put the caramelized onions all over the top spreading them evenly up to the sides.

Step 3

Turn off the heat, then cover the pot with the lid, and place it in an oven preheated at 325°F. Allow it to cook until very tender, then once done cooking, remove the Brisket from the pot, and slice it. Transfer the juices to a serving dish, then serve it on the side of the sliced Brisket, and enjoy!
