This is a very quick and simple project that is also perfect for beginners or newbies to start their quilting journey with. Learn how to make this pretty potholder now by watching the video tutorial below.
Step 1
Place the backing fabric on your work surface with the wrong side facing up, then place the 2 pieces of batting or 1 batting and 1 Insul-bright in the center, and make sure to have 1.5 inches of backing showing around each side. Baste the stack in place, then put one strip at the center diagonally from corner to corner with its right side facing up, and put another strip on top with its right side facing down and edges lined up.
Step 2
Pin them together in place, then stitch them on one long side with ¼ inch seam allowance, and press the fabric open. Stitch the other edge of the center strips with about 1/8 inch seam allowance, then keep adding more strips until the whole batting is covered, and then trim away the excess strips poking out the batting. Bind the edges using the excess backing around the sides as demonstrated in the video, then add a fabric loop at the corner, and you’re done!
