When I was a child, I remember my Grandmother would always make a yummy Watergate salad where she would let us help her prepare it, and I remember having so much fun! Now that I am in charge of cooking and preparing food, I decided to try and make my Grandmother’s special dessert, and add my own twist to the famous treat.

Making this dessert was super easy and what I like the most about it is the fact that you don’t need a lot of ingredients to make it, so it’s guaranteed perfect every time. This is also an incredible recipe idea to make ahead, especially if you want to serve it at a party, gathering, or cookout. Learn how now by watching this video tutorial by Tobias Young on YouTube!
Step 1
In a large mixing bowl, add the crushed pineapple including the juice, then add the entire packet of pistachio pudding, and whisk them thoroughly until fully combined and incorporated. Add some food coloring if you want, then add the marshmallows, and fold them in until evenly distributed.
Step 2
Add the Cool Whip, then cut some of the cherries, and add them in as well. Continue folding until well combined, then place it in the refrigerator to chill for about 3 hours, and then mix in the chopped pecans. Top the salad with whole cherries, then serve, and enjoy!
