I’ve always wondered what I can do with the old bike tires that I have at home, I knew that they would eventually come in handy which is why I haven’t thrown them away just yet. So when I found this project idea by #LifeHacks101 on YouTube, I immediately knew that this was the perfect opportunity for me to repurpose those old tires that are otherwise already considered trash.

You can design the shelf however you want by either staining it or painting it with your favorite color and you can customize the shelf to your heart’s content. For now, learn the basic steps to making this repurposed DIY shelf by watching the video tutorial below.
Step 1
first off, make sure to wash and clean the tire well to remove all of the dirt and grease, then wipe it dry, and paint it if you want. Measure the width of the tire from top to bottom at about every 2 inches or however wide you want the space of each shelf to be.
Step 2
Use those measurements to cut the wood to size, you can use 1×2 or any wood that is the same width as the tire, and then insert the wood pieces into the tire as shown in the video. Secure the wood pieces into place by attaching nails on each end both on the back and front of the tire.

Step 3
Lastly, attach a wall mount hook to the back and upper part of the tire shelf, then hang it on your wall, and start arranging any item that you want on the shelf. You can use this shelf to display your collection of toy cars or any other small stuff.
