The first time I watched this video tutorial by Carol Thelen, I immediately knew that this is going to be one of the best quilts I’ll ever get to try, and I wasn’t wrong because it turned out to be very lovely. It was also very easy and simple to follow because the instructions were clear, and even beginners can definitely perfect this quilt on their first try. Check out this quilt project now and see for yourself!
Step 1
Pick the fabric that you want to use, then start cutting them to size using the pattern as the guideline, and start piecing the star block first. Take one low-volume print fabric triangle, then place two main fabric triangles on each side with their right sides facing and edges matching, and sew them down together before pressing them open.

Step 2
Repeat the same steps with the rest of the star block pieces, then assemble them together to form the block, and start stitching them making sure to press every now and then. Next, for the 9-patch block, start by piecing the strips together and make two sets (set 1: dark, light, dark / set 2: light, dark, light), then make sure to press the seams toward the dark fabric, and sub-cut them into segments.
Step 3
Piece three segments together alternately, then press them nicely, and square the unit. Lay the block units together to form the 9-patch block as shown in the pattern, then sew them piece by piece, and press every now and then. Now, start laying the star block and 9-patch block alternately, then stitch each row together, and then stitch the rows to each other. Finish the project by adding the border, binding, backing, and quilt however you want.
