Step 1

Download the pattern, cut the fabric according to size as instructed in the pattern guide, and start piecing the half-square triangles. To make the half-square triangles, get 1 print fabric and 1 background fabric, lay them with their right sides facing, and line the back of the lighter fabric diagonally in half from corner to corner.

Step 2

Stitch on either side of the marked line with ¼ inch seam allowance, cut them apart, and press the seams open. Trim off the nubs or excess fabric, then do the same steps for the rest of the fabrics. Get 3 dark half-square triangles, 1 medium half-square triangle, and 2 background squares, then assemble them as shown in the video, and place a background rectangle on top of the blocks horizontally.

Step 3

Stitch them together per row starting with the squares, then stitch the rows to each other, and press the seams as you go. Do the same steps for the remaining pieces, then get 4 sets of these block units, and arrange them as demonstrated in the video or refer to the pattern guide. Stitch the block units together by pair, then the pairs to each other, and press the seams nicely.
