Keeping yourself fit is challenging, especially during the winter season when all you want to do is stay inside your warm and cozy home. It’s difficult to brave the cold weather just to go all the way to the gym or even to just do a little jog.

Fortunately, there are a couple of exercises that you can do in the comfort of your home without the need for special equipment. Learn 3 simple workouts in this video tutorial by Qinetic Live on YouTube! Make sure to make yourself super hydrated and do a dynamic warmup before doing the exercises.

What You’ll Need:

  • Yoga mat
  • Water
  • Socks, optional

Indoor Exercises for Beginners:

#1: Hollow Body Rocker

Lay down and extend your body throughout the length of the yoga mat, then extend the arms and legs out, and make sure to keep your feet together. Lower your back down, then squeeze your glutes to lock the pelvis in place, and lift your arms and legs. Your head should be slightly off the ground as well, then rock your chest up and your butt alternately. Do this motion a few times, then for 20 to 30 rocks as you get better.

#2: Squat

Fold your yoga mat in half, then stand the far back of the mat, and go to a regular squat sitting the hips back. Stand and step your right leg to the upper right corner of the mat, and squat deeper. Do the same to the other side, then step your right leg back to the far corner, and squat. Finish it by placing the other leg to the original position, and squatting again. Repeat this a few more times.

#3: Pike Press

Start at the back of a folded yoga mat, then lift the heels off the ground, and bend over placing the arms to the far front of the yoga mat. Keep your legs straight, you can keep your heels down at first, then shift forward, and spread the arms as wide as you can. Take your head down to the very front of the yoga mat, then push yourself up, and repeat it a few more times.
