This Greek cross quilt block is one of the first quilt projects I tried as a beginner and is also my favorite. This is a very easy and simple project you can make with any fabric prints or colors you want, and if you’re also a newbie quilter, then this is a must-try.

You can combine this quilt block with any other blocks as well to create a whole different quilt. If you want to learn how now, then proceed to read the written instructions down below, and while you’re at it watch this video tutorial by Create with Claudia on YouTube as well.
Cutting Instructions
Background Fabric
Fabric A
Fabric B
Fabric C
Step 1
Stack 1 background square and fabric A square together with their right sides facing, then draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of the lighter fabric, and stitch on either side of the line with ¼ inch seam allowance.
Step 2
Cut it apart along the drawn line, then press the seams toward the darker fabric, and trim the block to 6½ inches square. Repeat with the other fabric squares and you’ll have 4 half-square triangles, then set them aside.
Step 3
Get the rectangles A and B, then line them up with their right sides facing, stitch them down one long side with ¼ inch seam allowance, and press them open.
Step 4
Place the fabric C at the center, then assemble the units around it as shown in the video, and stitch them together making sure to press as you go. Square up the block to 18½ inches and you’re done!
