I’ve just finished a quilt a few days ago and am already looking for a new project to work on. While browsing the internet for any ideas or inspirations, I found this video tutorial by Carol Thelen on YouTube and immediately knew that I have to give it a try. Indeed, this quilt block was so lovely and fun to make, plus, you can use your fabric scraps for this, too.
Step 1
Pick the fabric that you want to use and cut them to size, then lay the patch B main fabric and corner fabric on top of the background fabric with their right sides facing and edges matching, and sew them together down on one side. Press them open, then stitch 2 patch B background fabric and main fabric on each side of patch C triangles, and press them open. Take 1 patch A square, 2 corner half-square triangles, and 1 main half-square triangle, then sew them together and press nicely.

Step 2
Lay the dark geese unit at the top and the light geese unit at the bottom, then stitch them together and press the seams open. Continue to make the rest of the units, then sew the remaining squares into a 4-patch block, and start to assemble the units together as shown in the diagram. Sew them together into 3 rows, then sew the rows to each other, and make sure to press every now and then.
