Take one of the small yellow squares and place it right side down on your work surface. Draw a diagonal line from one corner to the opposite using a ruler and pencil. Do the same for the remaining small yellow squares.
Take one of the red squares and place one of the small yellow squares right side down on the top right corner. One end of the diagonal line should be placed on the top middle. Sew on the diagonal line then trim off the upper triangle with a 0.4-inch allowance. Finger press the seams. Next, get another small yellow square and do the same on the left corner. Repeat the process for the other 3 red squares.
Get one of the green squares and place one small yellow square right side down on the top right corner. Sew on the diagonal and trim off the excess with a 0.4-inch allowance. Finger press the seams. Do the same on the left bottom corner. Repeat the same process for the remaining green squares.
Arrange all the squares into this pattern. Start sewing each row then sew the rows together. Once done, finger press.
