When I first saw this quilt block by Teresa DownUnder on YouTube, I thought that this would be a complicated project to make, and I was so surprised when I found out that it was actually super simple.

This is perfect for beginners to practice their skills because the technique used in this project was pretty easy to follow, and I’m sure that you can get it even on your first try. Watch this video tutorial now to learn how.
Step 1
Roughly cut around the fan template, then get the fan template, and set aside the smaller template piece. Use the wedge template to cut a larger piece than needed, then fold along each line, and start adding the first piece on the back.
Step 2
Pin them securely in place, then fold back and trim at ¼ inch from the fold, and then add the next piece with their right sides facing. Stitch them along the line, then trim and remove the paper, cut the background fabric with the other template piece, and then mark the midpoint.
Step 3
Align the midpoint of the pieced fabric and background fabric, stack them with their right sides facing, and pin them together as shown in the video. Stitch them with ¼ inch seam allowance taking care not to stitch over pins and press them nicely.
