When it comes to quilting, Jordan Fabrics on YouTube is one of my all-time favorites! She always manages to make difficult quilt projects seem easier and more simple to make which is a huge help for beginners like me, plus she also has the best and most fun quilts to try.
Step 1
Pick layer cakes with the brightest colors, then cut them to size along with the background fabric, and make sure to download the pattern so that you can refer to it. Get 4 different print rectangles, 4 black long strips, and 4 black short strips, then lay the long strip on top of the print rectangle’s one side with their right sides facing, and stitch them together.
Step 2
Finger press the seams toward the darker fabric, then sew the other short strip on the bottom and press the seams toward the darker fabric as well. Repeat the same steps with the rest of the fabrics you picked, then grab a square piece of black fabric, and assemble them together into a block.

Step 3
Start sewing them together one at a time, make sure to pay attention to the steps demonstrated in the video as sewing them might get a bit tricky, then iron the block nice and flat, and proceed to make more blocks with varying print rectangles.
Step 4
Once all the blocks are done, lay them out on point so that they are shaped like a diamond, then switch or rotate the blocks as needed so that all of the colors are alternating and balanced, and place background triangles on all of the spots around the edges. Stitch them together per row, then sew the rows to each other, and make sure to press as you go.
