Easy Easter Egg String Art Tutorial

Recently, I have acquired a new hobby and that is string art! I am so in love with this DIY craft and I can’t help myself from making them. I’ve already done a couple and displayed them on my room’s wall, and they looked so pretty!

Since Easter is almost here, I decided to make Easter-themed string art, and I found this easy idea by One Little Project on YouTube. It’s so pretty and there are a lot of ways and designs you can try with this.

Materials for Easter Egg String Art:

• ¾-inch thick wooden board
• Nails
• Embroidery floss, assorted color
• Scissors
• Tape
• Hammer
• Paint or stain, optional
• Paintbrush, optional, only if using paint
• Printable pattern (Click the printable pattern here)

How to Make an Easter Egg String Art:

Step 1

Print the pattern and cut it out with enough allowance on the edges, then paint or stain the wooden board if desired, and allow it to dry completely, otherwise proceed to the next step.

Step 2

Lay the printed pattern on top of the board, then tape it in place, and start attaching the nails to the dots one at a time. Make sure their height is as even as possible.

Step 3

Next, carefully rip off the paper, then tie the first strand of yarn around the first nail, and start twisting and wrapping around two rows of nails diagonally as shown in the video.

Step 4

Now, bring the strand and wrap it around in the opposite direction, then create a border around the first set of colors by encircling around each nail on the outer area, and again in reverse as demonstrated in the video.

Step 5

Lastly, after tying the first set of yarn securely, cut the excess, and proceed to add more sets of colors using the same steps that you did earlier. You can also try other patterns once you’ve got the hang of it.
