I really love using fanny packs because they are super convenient to use and you can place a lot of small stuff inside that you would often forget or misplace such as; keys, phones, coin purses, etc. I own only 1 fanny pack and have been considering replacing it with a new one since it’s all worn out, and while browsing the internet for designs that I’d love, I happen to see this brilliant video tutorial by Orly Shani via Hallmark Channel on YouTube, and I immediately knew that I have to give it a try.
Step 1
Cut off the waistband of the jeans just below the seam making sure to cut as close to the seam as possible, then cut off the legs of the jeans, and turn them into jean shorts. Next, cut the crotch seam open, then cut the side seam apart, and then decide which pockets you want to include in our fanny pack.

Step 2
Cut the part that you want into rectangles of the same size, then lay them together with their wrong sides facing and edges matching, and then pin them together in place. Sew the side and bottom seams close, then turn it right sides out, and poke the edges nicely.
Step 3
If you’re using a lining fabric, then you can add it at this point, and then attach the strap or waistband that you cut up using fabric glue. You’re all done and you can now wear your fanny pack!
