If you have some old jeans that you either don’t want to use anymore or you just don’t like how it looks, then instead of throwing them away, just try to upcycle them into a skirt that you can wear anywhere. The steps are super simple and easy and you can also try this even if you’re a beginner because all you have to do is to cut the jeans accordingly and piece them together by sewing or by gluing them together. Learn how with this video tutorial by Hallmark Channel on YouTube.
Step 1
When choosing the jeans that you want to use, consider the weight of the fabric and make sure to pick lightweight denim for a flowy effect, and pick one with a wider leg and one with an even color. After picking out the jeans that you will use, cut the open in the middle making sure to keep the original hem and cut really close to the stitching line, then cut away the crotch flap so it lays straight as shown in the video.

Step 2
Get another pair of jeans similar to the one that you’re using to create panels, then cut the whole leg off, and cut them open as well. Insert one denim panel into the cut jeans to fill in the space in the middle, then pin them in place starting at the bottom, and work your way up. Start stitching them together, then cut off the excess, and do the same to the other side.
