Materials:

  • A small plastic bowl
  • Razor blade or X-Acto knife
  • Heat gun
  • Foam applicator, flat and round
  • White primer paint
  • Red paint
  • White paint
  • Black paint
  • Air dry clay
  • Paperclips
  • E6000 adhesive
  • Top coat

Directions:

Step 1

Heat the blade until nice and hot, then melt the sides of the bottom of the bowl, and remove it completely. Paint the bowl with white using a foam applicator, then set it aside to dry. Grab a small piece of clay, then shape it in your hands into the shape of half a ball, and stick it to one bottom side of the bowl to form it better. After reshaping and smoothening the clay, remove it and set it aside, then let it dry to set. Paint the bowl red, then the clay black, and once dry, paint a small triangle at the bottom of the bowl as shown in the video. Using a round applicator, dab black dots all over the dish, then add some adhesive at the back of the hardened clay and adhere it to the side of the bowl opposite the painted triangle.

Step 2

Place painter’s tape around the clay or dab some hot glue to hold them in place while it dries, then make the eyes using some small clay and let them harden before painting them. Straighten paperclips, then scrape off the paint, and reshape them with the ends coiled. Punch or drill two holes on top of the head, then dab the ends of the antenna in adhesive, and insert them into the holes. Adhere the eyes to the head as well, then draw a mouth, and add the top coat all over the bowl. Place a succulent in the hole of the bowl and you’re done!
