This simple sewing project by sewingtimes on YouTube will teach you how to make a pretty heart-shaped pot holder with only a few easy steps that you can follow even if you’re a beginner. You can also give this as a present or even sell it if you like, so grab your materials now, and let’s start sewing!
Step 1
Grab a pen and paper, then draw a heart pattern, and cut it out. Using this pattern, cut out the lining, interfacing cotton, and outer fabric. Go back to your pattern and add a 1cm wide mark on the upper center of the heart and a 4cm mark on each side at the bottom, then connect each mark with a diagonal line. Cut another set of lining, outer, and interfacing fabric hearts but this time cut them through the middle as well using the pattern as the guide.

Step 2
Now, fuse the interfacing cotton on the wrong side of the outer layers, then place the outer half hearts on top of the lining half hearts, and sew a bias tape on their straight edges. Lay the whole lining heart at the bottom, then place the whole outer heart on top, and the half hearts above them. Trim off the excess bias tape, then zigzag stitch them together all the way around, and stitch a bias tape for the hang tab. Pin the hang tab on the lining fabric of the whole heart piece, then sew a bias tape all around the heart. Bring the bias tape forward so it’s at the front, then tuck it in properly, and blind stitch around the heart.
