What’s even better is that there is a shark’s fin attached to the top which makes it cuter! You can make this DIY cooler with just a few easy steps using only items that you can find in the nearest Dollar Store. Learn how now with this video tutorial by HGTV Handmade on YouTube.
Step 1
Place a sheet of scrap paper or newspaper under the lid of the cooler, then attach the painter’s tape around the edges underneath the lid, and start making the fin. Draw the shape on a piece of foam, then cut it out, and hot glue the bottom on top of the lid making sure it’s centered.
Step 2
Spray paint the entire lid and fin with primer, then let it dry completely, and then coat it with gray paint. Cut the pool noodles as demonstrated in the video, then connect them by threading a bungee cord through the hole of each pool noodle, and knot the end securely to the hook.
Step 3
Make another identical set, stack them together, and secure them with zip ties near each corner. Place the cooler inside the stack of pool noodles, pull them halfway up the cooler, and secure them with zip ties. Fill the cooler with beverages and place it in the pool!
