This adorable sewing project by The Sewing Room Channel on YouTube is so simple and easy to make! If you are new to sewing or a beginner, then this is the perfect project to practice your skills. You can also use some fabric scraps that have fall-themed patterns on them as the applique for your kitchen towel. Learn how by reading the instructions down below, then watch the video tutorial for more details, and enjoy!
Step 1
Cut a 3-inch wide strip for the ruffle, then fold over the long sides by ¼-inch seam allowance, press nicely, and sew straight down. Fold over the short ends as well, then press, and sew straight. Using a ruffle gathering presser foot, sew the ruffles, then place it on top of the short side of the towel, and sew it straight down the center. Cut whatever pattern or object you want from another fabric making sure to leave at least ¼-inch extra seam around the edges of the shape.

Step 2
Next, cut the fusible web roughly the same shape and remove the backing paper. Place the pattern on top of the fusible, then press it with your hands, and trim out the shape. Carefully remove the paper at the back, then place the pattern in the center at the bottom part of the towel and just above the ruffle, and fuse the pattern according to package instructions. Sew around the edges of the shape with a satin stitch and you’re done.
