Easy DIY Wall Hanging Decor Idea Using Bottle Caps

I love repurposing stuff and turning it into pretty decor not only because this is a great way to make beautiful projects to adorn your house but also because you can turn trash into treasure which then reduces waste. Some of my favorite items to repurpose or recycle are tires, bottles, paper tube rolls, and bottle caps!

Materials for DIY Bottle Cap Wall Hanging Decor Idea:
- Cardboard
- Scissors
- Cutter
- Bottle caps
- Acrylic paint
- Glue
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Jute rope
- Paper towels
- Paintbrush
- Clear spray paint, optional
How to Make Bottle Cap Wall Hanging Decor Idea:
Step 1
Cut the cardboard into 6 strips at 1×20 inches and 1 rectangle at 20×8 inches, then glue the strip over the rectangle base, and space them evenly. Once completely dried, mix some glue and water, then brush it over the base, and place a paper towel on top. Brush the paper towel down until it’s completely adhered to the cardboard, then continue to cover the entire base including the sides and back, and let it dry completely.
Step 2
Paint the base as demonstrated in the video, then prepare the bottles, keep a few pieces whole, and then pinch the rest in half. Paint the whole caps brown, then the folded caps yellow, orange, and green, and let them dry completely. Glue the whole cap anywhere you want, this will be the center of the flower, then surround it with the folded caps for the petals, and then paint more details to them.
Step 3
Glue a jute rope to connect the flowers, which will serve as the stem, then glue the green folded cap for the leaves, and paint more details to them. Cut a long piece of rope, then hot glue both ends to the bottom of the base making sure they meet at the center, then adhere them to the sides, and leave the top loose for hanging later. You can spray the entire piece for a glossy finish if you want, and then hang it anywhere you like!
