If you want a pool but think that they are too expensive to build, well, you’d surely be glad to know this cheaper alternative that feels as great as a real pool. Materials:

  • Galvanized stock tank
  • Sand filter set
  • Inlet valve
  • 2 plunger valves
  • Hole saw metal
  • Adhesive sealant
  • Glass filtration Media
  • Reusable water filter
  • Plumber’s tape
  • Metal file
  • Oxy-tech 35% food-grade hydrogen peroxide

Directions:

Step 1

Place the stock tank on level ground or prep your lawn if it’s uneven, then drill holes for the outlet and the inlet valve, and file any sharp edges until smooth. Before proceeding to the next step, clean or vacuum all of the metal shavings, then once done, wrap the plumber’s tape to the threads of the inlet and outlet, and apply some sealant on the inside of the valve fitting.

Step 2

Insert the valves into the hole, then screw the pieces in place, and repeat the steps with the inlet. Smooth out the adhesive that leaked around the sides, then pour the glass media into the tank filter, and attach the hoses to the tank and the pump. Secure them in place by attaching the rest of the pieces, then fill the pool with water, and add hydrogen peroxide to the water.
