Allium flowers are very pretty and they have the best shape, and I would love to have them around my yard or garden. So when I found this DIY project idea by My Little Slice of Paradise on YouTube, I got so excited and happy, not only because I could now have some pretty allium flowers at home, but also because I could get them at a cheaper price.

A few weeks ago, my Sister gave me some golf balls that she found in her storage and I hadn’t decided on where to use them until I saw this DIY project. This was a very brilliant idea and also surprisingly easy to do, plus, the materials that you’ll be needing are also very easy to find. Materials for DIY Allium Flowers:

  • Golf balls
  • 2.5″ finishing nails
  • Spray paint, dark purple, light purple, green
  • Wooden dowels
  • Artificial leaves
  • Power drill
  • E6000 adhesive
  • Painter’s tape

How to Make Faux Allium Flowers:

Step 1

Cut the dowels to the right size, then spray paint them green, and then spray paint the golf balls purple. Let them dry completely, then drill a large hole at the bottom of the golf balls, and then drill smaller holes around the whole ball.

Step 2

Apply adhesive to the largest hole at the bottom of the ball, then insert the wooden dowel, and stand it up as you wait for it to dry. Do the same for the rest of the balls, then once the glue has dried, adhere the nails to the smaller holes, and stand them up to dry as well.

Step 3

Cover the stem with painter’s tape, then spray paint the nails purple, and let it dry completely. Stick the plastic leaves and allium flowers to a flower pot with dirt and arrange them however you want.
