Materials for Confetti Crumb Quilt:

  • Fabric scraps
  • Backing fabric
  • Tulle fabric
  • Binding fabric
  • Wadding
  • Marking pen, pencil, or chalk
  • Ruler
  • Scissors or rotary cutter and a cutting mat
  • Fabric pins or clips
  • Needle and thread
  • Iron, for pressing
  • Sewing machine

How to Make a Confetti Crumb Quilt:

Step 1

Cut the wadding, backing, and tulle fabric to size, then lay the backing fabric right side up, and place the wadding and tulle fabric on top. Smooth them out nicely, then clip them together, and stitch the sides and bottom with ¼ inch seam allowance leaving one end open. Trim off the excess, then get a bunch of scraps, and cut them into smaller pieces.

Step 2

Place the cut scraps in between the wadding and tulle fabric, then spread them evenly, and stitch the opening closed. Start sewing the entire piece diagonally from corner to corner, then make more diagonal stitches, and make sure to space them apart evenly at ½ inch. Rotate the piece and stitch diagonally in the other direction, then add the binding all the way around, and you’re done!
