Step 1
In a large bowl, add the butter and both sugars, then beat them until combined, add the flour and salt, and keep beating just until incorporated. Pour in the chocolate chips, then give them a good stir to combine, and roll the dough on your counter into a log that is about 10 inches long and 1.5 inches in diameter.
Step 2
Wrap it with plastic wrap, parchment paper, or wax paper, then put the dough log in the refrigerator, and allow it to sit for at least 6 hours up to overnight. Once ready to bake, preheat your oven to 350°F, then place the rack in the center of the oven, and line your baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 3
Transfer the dough to a cutting board, then slice it with a sharp knife into 1/3-inch thick pieces. Next, put the cookie slices on the prepared baking sheet making sure to space them about 3 inches apart evenly before placing them in the preheated oven.
Step 4
Allow them to bake for about 13 to 15 minutes or until the edges are golden brown, and make sure to rotate them about halfway through the baking time. Remove the cookies from the oven, then place them on a wire rack, and let them cool down completely. Serve and enjoy!
