Sewing projects that use fabric scraps are one of my favorites. I love re-using or repurposing items that are otherwise already considered trash, and I also love maximizing the purposes of each material I use for a certain craft. One of the recent quilt projects I’ve tried is this one by Carol Thelen on YouTube, this is such a fun and easy quilt block, and I’m sure that even beginners will enjoy making this.

You can use any pattern, color, or print of fabric for this project and make it look as scrappy as you want. For now, learn the basic steps to making this quilt block by reading the written instructions down below, and while you’re at it be sure to check out the video tutorial, too, for more details. I do hope that you enjoy this quilting project as much as I did.
Step 1
Download and print the pattern, cut the fabrics to size, and start piecing the 4-patch units. Lay a small print square on a flat surface, then put a small background square beside it and underneath the print, and finally, place a small print square beside and underneath the background square.

Step 2
Make another 4-patch unit but swap the places as shown in the video, then stitch them together, and press the seams as you go. Assemble the 4-patch units with the large print and background squares as demonstrated in the video, then stitch them together, and press the seams.
