The process of piecing together the fabrics is super simple and anyone can do it, even if it’s your first time quilting! This is a good quilt block to practice your skills with, learn how now by watching the video tutorial below.
Step 1
First, iron out your fabrics to smoothen out any creases, then cut fabric A into one 7-inch square, fabric B into one 7-inch square, fabric C into four 3.5-inch squares, and fabric D into four 3.5-inch squares, and start working on your block units.
Step 2
For the first block unit, make 2 lines at the back of the large square diagonally, then make sure they are at the center and ¼ inch apart from each other, and lay it on top of the other large square making sure their right sides are facing.
Step 3
Stitch along the marked lines, then cut them apart in half, and press the seams toward the darker fabric. Trim the block units to size and set them aside.
Step 4
For the next block unit, arrange the small squares into a 4-patch block with the fabrics alternating from each other, then stitch them together one at a time, and give it a good press.
Step 5
Make one more set, then arrange the block units alternately as shown in the video, and stitch them together one at a time. Give the entire block a good press and you’re done!
