This quilt block by Carol Thelen on YouTube is surely a sewing project that beginners will enjoy! It’s very simple and easy to put together and it only requires 3 different fabrics. You can make more blocks of the same colors or use different colors per block, and then make a whole quilt with them. Proceed to read the written instructions down below and watch the video tutorial as well to learn how.
Step 1
Download the pattern and cut the fabrics according to size as instructed in the pattern guide. Lay the large dark square at the center on a flat surface, then place a background strip on each side of the square, and a light strip on the top and bottom making sure they are of the same size as the center square. Place small squares on each corner, start stitching them per row, then the rows to each other, and press the seams as you go.

Step 2
Place the light strip on each side of the block right next to the background side, then lay the background strip at the top and bottom of the block, and fill the corners with the little squares. Stitch them together pressing the seams open now and then, and keep adding the strips alternating the colors all around until the block is complete as shown in the video.
