If you love quilting, then you will love this fast and easy double-slice quilt that uses layer cakes from Missouri Star Quilt Company on Youtube. It’s an easy technique, especially if you are a beginner in quilting. Watch the video tutorial below to learn this technique.
Materials:
- layer cake (of your choice)
- ruler
- rotary cutter
Directions:
Step 1
Take your layer cakes and cut them into 3 & 1/2″ pieces and 6 & 1/2″ pieces. (You’re going to cut the whole thing.) Stack them separately, then take the little pieces and flip them, right side down. Next, take 2 pieces together, right sides facing each other, and sew them at 1/4″ straight down. After sewing the first pair, grab the next one and just line them up. After you.ve sewed 3 pairs, take them to your ironing board, and press them open.

Step 2
After pressing, lay them down, get a ruler, and cut them in half. Do this to the rest of the blocks. Just make sure that you sew all of them first before cutting. After cutting, stack them again into two groups, rotate the other group down, and sew them together. Make sure they are all lined up nicely. After this, lay all the blocks together, and sew them.
