If you love farmhouse decorations, this DIY project is for you. Try making this rustic farmhouse wagon wheel from Kristin Kay on Youtube. It’s super easy to make and inexpensive, with all the materials coming from Dollar Tree. It’s the perfect addition to your home, especially if you love the farmhouse aesthetic. Watch the video tutorial below to learn how to make this.

Materials:

  • 16″ hula hoop (or any size you can find)
  • 32″ skewer sticks
  • nutmeg acrylic paint
  • hot glue
  • foam board (or cardboard)
  • wire cutters (or scissors)

Directions:

Step 1

Line the skewers up on the hula hoop before you do anything else to see how much you have to cut from them and how many you needed. After this, cut the skewers and paint them as well as the hula hoop with nutmeg brown acrylic paint. Do three coats on each, then let them all dry completely.

Step 2

After it dries, put the skewers on the hula hoop, placing them like the spokes of a wagon wheel. Use hot glue to secure the skewers to the hula hoop. (Wait for the hot glue to dry before adding another skewer.) To make the little circle in the middle of the wheel, trace two circles, one big and one small, on a foam board and cut it. Sand them down a bit, then paint them also with the nutmeg acrylic paint. Glue them with hot glue right to the center of the wheel.

Since I lover experiments, I’ve alwaysnloved to create, paint, as well as cook and style food. I feel in love with DIY as soon as I discovered it and could not have been more excited when I learned I could share projects with people around the world. Taking photos is a passion of mine, as is design and painting with oils. I love holidays and celebrations, crafting cute little gifts and serving up at least one new recipe I am excited about.
