If you’re looking for ways to elevate your backyard, try making this DIY watering can with lights from Kelly Dixon on YouTube! This stunning piece of decor will surely make your backyard a fantasy-like place. I made a couple of these and placed them on both sides of my flowerbed, and boy, does it look so magical. It made so much sense in my garden.

What I like the most about this project is that it’s so easy and simple to make, yet the outcome is so beautiful. The materials are also easily found around your home or in the nearest thrift store or Dollar Tree. You won’t spend a lot on this project, I swear. So, if you’re still looking for a weekend project, try this DIY! Watch the video tutorial below to learn the step by step instructions.

Materials:

  • watering can
  • fairy lights
  • shepherd’s hook
  • screwdriver

Directions:

Step 1

To start, remove the head of your watering can and set it aside. Next, grab a screwdriver (or any tool of your choice) and carefully make the holes in the showerhead bigger, enough for the lights to go through. Now, place the fairy lights inside the watering can and gently pull it out of the spout.

Step 2

After this, feed the fairy lights one by one through the holes in the showerhead. Once you’re done, carefully put the showerhead back on the watering can, and secure it tightly. Bring it to your backyard and hang it using a shepherd’s hook. (This will look good in the area where your flowerbeds are located.) Lastly, fluff the lights out to make it look like it’s showering lights. Your DIY watering can with lights is now finished!
